Athletics

The Gramon Family sports programs continue to expand and provide our student body with all the opportunities to participate in sports of their interest.  Combining the support of our dynamic staff and coaches, we have continued to explore new opportunities to support our students’ self-esteem and confidence.

Basketball

The Gramon Family of Schools basketball program is one of the most collaborative and enthusiastic sports programs that we offer.  The GFS Knights is an intramural basketball program that takes place during the winter months.  Games are attended by family members, staff, and students and help provide an environment that is energetic, supportive, and fun.  This all helps boost the confidence and self-esteem of our student-athletes.

Cheerleading

The Gramon Family is so incredibly proud of how much our cheering program has grown in recent years.  With the guidance and support of our Physical Therapy and Speech departments, we have established a fun and dynamic program for students to perform at our sporting events. GFS cheerleading is not to be missed!

Mini Golf Club

The GFS mini golf club offers middle school through high school students the opportunity to practice their eye–hand coordination skills and concentration with our indoor 9-hole mini golf course. Students develop their skills on putting greens equipped with obstacles and barriers designed to challenge them and support their growth. The season culminates in an end-of-season parent–student golf session, celebrating the progress and confidence they’ve gained.

Spring Sports & Activities

T-ball

The GFS T-Ball season begins in April and culminates in a series of games in May, where parents are invited to attend and cheer on their student athletes. Using adaptive gloves and bats to optimize success, students learn the fundamental skills of hitting the ball, running the bases, and playing defense in the field. This program promotes teamwork, confidence, and enjoyment of the game in a supportive environment.

Dance Club

The GFS co-ed Dance Club performs at our T-Ball games, showcasing their skills through an energetic hip-hop and tap dance routine that is not to be missed. Dancers practice weekly in preparation for these performances, providing families the opportunity to celebrate their child’s progress and self-confidence. This year, dancers will also enjoy the unique opportunity to practice at an off-site dance studio, offering an authentic, community-based dance experience.

Track & Field > Special Olympics

The track and field team, which includes students 8 years old +, consists of a season of practicing the skills of running, throwing, and jumping.  The season culminates with the students participating in the Essex County Division of the Special Olympics, where they have the opportunity to showcase their hard work in the 50-yard dash, shot put, and long jump events, alongside other schools.  This is an amazing, fun-filled day for our athletes and parents to come together for an inclusive, esteem-boosting activity that embraces a day of fitness and GFS school spirit!
