For more than 85 years, The Gramon School has been at the forefront of providing education to students with developmental disabilities. Currently, the school serves individuals ages 16 to 21, with a primary focus on high school education and transition services.
Our mission is to empower students with the essential skills required to achieve maximum independence and success in their post-21 endeavors, whether that involves pursuing higher education, enrolling in a day program, or transitioning to independent living.
We offer a comprehensive curriculum that emphasizes practical, real-world applications, equipping students with tools they can use both at home and within their communities.
Structured Learning, Real-World Impact
To ensure that learning is not only structured but also occurs in meaningful, everyday contexts we incorporate key components of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), such as
-
Natural Environment Teaching (NET)
-
Incidental Teaching
These strategies allow students to develop skills in settings that closely mirror real-world environments, enhancing their ability to transfer learning across various situations.
Student's Educational Journey
Carefully tailored based on assessments and individualized profiles. Our team of highly skilled professionals—including educators, paraprofessionals, speech, physical, and occupational therapists, behaviorists, guidance counselors, and social workers—works collaboratively to bridge classroom learning with meaningful real-world experiences.
These include on-site and community-based learning, as well as Work-Based Learning (WBL) opportunities and job placements throughout our campus.
